We start this tour in Placencia, this day packed with adventures. At the dock, a motorized boat will be ready for us when we arrive. You will immediately start to notice the wildlife as we pass through a mangrove waterway.
After a pleasant trip through the channel appreciating birds, iguanas, and crocodiles, we will get to the Monkey River Village area. From this point, our pilot will start to slow down so that you can observe all the wildlife that is in plain sight but that we do not see because it is camouflaged.
We will arrive at a point where we will disembark and walk through part of the jungle. It will be at this point that you will get a closer look at the howler monkeys. Although these monkeys are little, they make a loud noise. They do this to keep other male howler monkeys out of their region and to defend their family. We strongly advise you to bring binoculars or a high-resolution camera if you have the chance. All the animals can be captured in beautiful photographs in their natural settings for you to keep. Without a doubt, this is an encounter that broadens your perspective and inspires you to protect the species and their ecosystem.
After lunch at Alice's Café we'll go watch manatees.
After that, we'll return to Placencia.
