This enchanting place truly feels like a slice of paradise right here on Earth. To fully grasp its existence, you must witness it firsthand. Semuc Champey was officially declared a natural monument in 2005, and it's nothing short of breathtaking. Imagine a 300-meter-long stone bridge that cradles multiple crystalline, turquoise-colored pools.
Immerse yourself in the refreshing, enchanted waters while basking in the embrace of a humid subtropical climate. The name "Semuc Champey" comes from the Mayan people of the Q'eqchi ethnicity, and it translates to "Where the river hides." It's an apt name, as the Cahabón River flows discreetly beneath this natural bridge, nourishing the stunning pools.
After a day full of adventures and discovering this magical place, we´ll enjoy a delicious box lunch.
At the end of the day, we´ll go to one of the hotels located close to Semuc Champey and get ready for day #2.
