Embark on an unforgettable journey through the enchanting region of Las Verapaces.
Day 1 begins with a scenic drive from Guatemala City to Ram Tzul Natural Reserve. Continue exploring at Orquigonia, where a kaleidoscope of orchids awaits amidst the misty clouds. Snap photos and marvel at the beauty of over 400 species of orchids in this enchanting sanctuary. Conclude the day with a captivating city tour of Coban, steeped in rich history and culture.
On Day 2, venture deeper into the heart of Las Verapaces as you journey to the natural wonderland of Semuc Champey. Dive into the mesmerizing turquoise pools. Then, delve into the depths of Kanba Caves and embark on an exhilarating underground adventure.
Day 3 brings a final dose of excitement as we get to Ranchitos del Quetzal. Join a local guide for a birdwatching expedition before delving into the fascinating history of sugar production at the Sugar Mill Museum..
Our base price is for groups of 5 or more. Prices are automatically adjusted based on group size for 1 to 4 passengers.
To start the day, we'll pick you up from your hotel and move over to the north-central region of Guatemala. The day will start at 6:00 am but on the way to our destination, you can take a nap and relax on the bus. We will make a stop to have breakfast in a restaurant on the road. Enjoy the road and the beautiful landscapes.
Upon our arrival at the Natural Reserve of Ram Tzul, we will explore the bamboo forest and walk in the middle of the cloud forest until getting to an awe-inspiring lookout with views of a waterfall and abundant lush greenery.
Then, we will make a stop at Ranchitos del Quetzal, a sanctuary for our national bird, El Quetzal, with long feathers of vibrant colors. Our stop here will be to have lunch. If we are lucky, we might see a Quetzal on the horizon.
After our lunch in Ranchitos del Quetzal, we´ll go to an orchid sanctuary located in the cloud forest. Here you will find around 400 species of orchids and learn about them by passing through 9 interactive stations. Take pictures and enjoy your time here.
The perfect closing for the first day will be a city tour through this city full of history and culture.
This day we'll start early in the morning to start our journey to the Natural Heritage of Semuc Champey.
We'll spend the whole day here, enjoy the hike up to get to the viewpoint of the turquoise natural pools, then swim, and have fun. Later, we'll discover a complex of nearby caves called Kanba Caves and explore the inside of the earth gates.
At the end of the day, we´ll travel to your hotel, rest and get ready for day 3.
On our last day we will wake up early in the morning to go to Ranchitos del Quetzal. Besides being a sanctuary for our national bird, El Quetzal, it is also home to many other birds and flora.
There will be a local tour guide with you so you don´t miss the chance of spotting these beautiful creatures.
In the regional sugar mill museum, we will learn how sugar cane juice was extracted.
We will make a stop for lunch and then continue our return journey to Guatemala City
After 3 days of adventure in the cloud forest of Las Verapaces, and after visiting some iconic locations of Guatemala, we will take you back to your hotel in Guatemala City.
