Semuc Champey is one of the most popular places to visit when you come to Guatemala, located in Las Verapaces, in the highlands of the country. When you go to Semuc Champey is common not to see a lot of people unlike when you visit other natural attractions in different countries. You will be able to go up to the viewpoint of Semuc Champey and have a bird-eye view of the natural turquoise pools and when you get down drench in its freshwaters. After your visit to this Paradise, we´ll explore the Lanquin Caves. These caves are close to Semuc Champey so the road trip won´t last long. Once getting to the Lanquin Caves it will take us around 45 minutes to explore the entire location. In the past, the Mayas used to believe that caves were the entrance to the infraworld and even nowadays some Mayan Ceremonies take place in the caves of the region.
The Mayan Q´eqchi´communities of the area give their services and protect these places so next generations can enjoy them.
