In this tour, we’ll take you through a 1-km-long path with 9 interactive stations so you will have the chance to observe 450 species of orchids. Not only that, but you will also learn about the connection between these mesmerizing flowers and butterflies, do birdwatching, and if you’re lucky enough, you will see the Scaled Antpitta, a unique and not-frequently observed bird. And if you are a nature lover as we are, many other activities will bring all your senses to life.
The Natural Reserve of Orquigonia is a rescue and conservation center located just a few minutes away from Cobán. So don’t hesitate and get amazed by this delightful place!

We´re going to start the tour at 8:00 am. We´ll pick you up in your hotel lobby in Cobán and take you to the orchid sanctuary Orquigonia. You can sit back, relax and enjoy the road and the beautiful views. Rest assured that all our vehicles have been fully sanitized for your well-being. All our staff strictly follows the protocols dictated internationally and in addition to that, we provide you a personal biosecurity kit that includes a pocket-size hand sanitizer bottle and a disposable mask. Your safety has always been a priority for us.
Las Verapaces are popular for all their flora and fauna. This will be a short trip full of wonderful landscapes and greenery. Sit back and enjoy the road. On our way back to your hotel, you have the chance to relax and take a nap, or maybe you prefer to take photos of the marvelous landscapes of Las Verapaces, the time is yours. The last point in our itinerary is to take you safe and sound to your hotel in Coban.
